Brian Miller is the Managing Partner and Chef du Cuisine.
Born in Tennessee, Chef de Cuisine Brian Miller spent his childhood in Hickory, NC. Although entertaining and cooking have been long-standing traditions of the Miller family history, it was not until the fiberoptic bust did he begin to follow his passion for cooking. Starting at a local pub, Brian quickly worked his way up attaining head chef positions in two of the areas most respected fine dining establishments.
Strong in classic French techniques paired with Southern influences show through today in Chef Miller’s cooking. He received his formal culinary education from the award winning culinary program at A-B Tech in Asheville, North Carolina. His careful, artful pairing of international influences with traditional southern elements produces a very unique dining experience. He feels very strongly about the use of local and sustainable products, and root & vine’s goal is to strengthen relationships with local Morganton farmers.
Chef Miller along with his wife and Managing Partner Aimee, have two children – seventeen year old daughter Abbey and thriteen year old son Liam, and four dogs, Bosco, Parker, Murphy and Otis. When not cooking, Brian enjoys spending time with his family, reading, music and hiking the beautiful Carolinas.
